John's journey into tech started here, at McGill University where he founded SIMVO, an online tool to help students plan out their degree curriculums. From here, SIMVO grew beyond McGill to work on countless more engineering projects, and even entered the education content production space in 2019. The SIMVO you see now is the culmination of all these years of hard work.

Associate Canadian Enterprise Sales
Built analytical dashboards (PowerBI) to support Federal Sales teams attain a FY2018 quota of $120M. John's first commercial program was written here, where he automated the contract writing process within his team. This software automated $160M+ worth of Microsoft Enterprise Sales contracts with the Canadian Government in Ottawa.

Software Engineer
Built and deployed high-frequency-low-latency solutions that power real-time advertising auctions to distributed systems on 8000 LINUX servers in 10 DCs worldwide, processing 50+ billion requests and generating >1 TB a day. John's greatest accomplishment was an auction latency optimization that led to a $110K/day increase in spending from advertisers.

Part of the team building the Bloomberg Quantitative Platform (BQuant) - Quant engineers of Hedge Funds / Investment firms leverage BQuant data science libraries to build analytical models and reports to make data driven investment decisions. John leads various efforts ranging from full-stack implementations, to authentication workflows, to third party integrations.
